15% 'would buy JLS-endorsed condoms'

Durex condoms has teamed up with pop band JLS to produce a new range of prophylactics endorsed by the singers.

Such a move could see teenagers increasingly interested in practicing safe sex, as a survey by Superdrug revealed that 15 per cent of this demographic would be more likely to purchase a condom backed by the group.

Spokeswoman for the high street pharmacy Mel Wilson noted that one of the primary barriers for young people protecting themselves while having fun and frolics is the stigma that comes with carrying the products.

"We'll be using this research to take steps to overcome these barriers and believe that these fabulous new JLS condoms [are] one of the first important steps in this," she remarked.

Shoppers will find the faces of Aston Merrygold, JB, Marvin Humes and Oritse Williams emblazoned on exclusive packs of Extra Safe Durex condoms that are slightly thicker and boast extra lubrication.
