Best songs for sex revealed
The best music to get busy to has been revealed, along with the tunes that will likely stop you from making the earth move in the bedroom. Music streaming service Deezer surveyed its users to find out what music helps them set the mood.
Most people appreciate a bit of music while they're getting intimate, with 30 per cent saying it helps them feel more aroused, while 25 per cent said that they think it actually makes sex better.
However, not all music helps to get things going, with 49 per cent of respondents saying that Kanye West's music is some of the worst to get romantic to. In fact, almost half admit to actively skipping his songs.
The verdict was almost identical when it comes to Justin Bieber, with 48 per cent saying his voice is far from a turn-on. Other tunes that get the pass in the bedroom include System of a Down and Iggy Azalea.
When it comes to the best music, Marvin Gaye got the top spot and was named as having the sexiest voice by 27 per cent of those surveyed. He was followed by Lionel Richie, who got 18 per cent of the votes. Other popular musicians were Luther Vandross (16 per cent), John Legend (13 per cent) and Usher (12 per cent).
Marvin Gaye also won number one when it came to the best songs for getting in the mood, with 'Let's Get It On' being a popular go-to song. Other songs that were found to be popular for setting the scene and enhancing the mood, include 'Skin' by Rihanna, 'Love Me Like You Do' by Ellie Goulding and 'Need You Tonight' by INXS.
Tracey Cox, the sex expert who led the research, said: "Music is a powerful, potent aphrodisiac so I'm not surprised so many Americans find it improves their sexual experiences. Listening to music causes our brain to flood with dopamine, the pleasure hormone. The same thing happens when we're getting intimate, so it effectively puts our bodies ‘in the mood.'"
The most important thing when it comes to picking the right song for sex, according to 60 per cent of the respondents, is rhythm. This is followed by the voice of the artist and the overall melody.
