Brothel lets punters pay in Bitcoin
A legal brothel has become the first in the world to allow its punters to use Bitcoin in exchange for sexual services.
Lana West, who works at the famous Moonlite Bunny Ranch in Nevada, told the Sun she accepted thousands of dollars' worth of the cryptocurrency as payment for an 'intimate girlfriend experience' on April 5th this year.
She explained that a "wonderful and rather tech-savvy client" asked if he could pay with Bitcoin rather than cash or credit card, so she took his request to owner Dennis Hof.
After the exchange was approved, the client made his payment and the money was transferred to the relevant accounts at the brothel.
"My client walked out with a smile on his face - but little did he know we actually made history together," Lana mused.
Perhaps this type of payment might become more common in the future, as Bitcoin transfers are completely anonymous - it saves any awkward questions for punters when sexual services show up on credit card receipts!
Mr Hof said allowing cryptocurrencies to be accepted makes sense from a logistics point of view.
"We have guys carrying duffel bags full of cash right up to our cashier's window, and we've had to install a safe the size of Fort Knox to hold it all," he pointed out.
Moonlite has already proved itself to be at the very forefront of technology when it comes to the services its girls can provide - it was the first brothel to have a website, it offers live video streaming and even wants to incorporate sex robots into its offerings.
Interestingly, brothels like this are legal in Nevada, except in Las Vegas. Prhaps Sin City is more prudish than everyone assumed...
Bitcoin is set to soar in value throughout 2018, experts have said, so anyone who does want to pay for sex legally with it might be on to a bargain.
