Ciara: Teenagers should wear condoms

Pop star Ciara has told teenagers to use condoms to avoid teenage pregnancy.

The singer, famous for tracks such as Goodies, was speaking at an event held by The Candie's Foundation.

Ciara, who is going out with Amar'e Stoudemire of the New York Knicks, noted that although no one is "perfect", it is important the end result is right.

"Just try to be your best in general - and of course with teen pregnancy prevention be smart. Wrap it up. Take your time. Don't rush," she added.

The Candie's Foundation - which has been running since 2001 - is trying to change people's opinions about teen pregnancy and parenthood.

It asks individuals to consider whether or not they are taking the proper precautions before indulging in intercourse.

Jenny McCarthy, Hayden Panettiere, Usher, Rachel Bilson, Vanessa Minnillo, Ashley Tisdale and Hilary Duff are among the other high-profile personalities who have backed the organisation's campaigns.
