Elvis Presley image featured on condoms

Elvis Presley's image has been used to promote the use of condoms in one city in Canada.

Ontario Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Strategy regional outreach worker Virginia Forsythe decided to design a range of contraceptives featuring the 'King' in honour of what would have been his 76th birthday, the Daily Press reports.

The El-condom was handed out at a local gathering along with a brooch pin also carrying the musician's image that can be worn on clothes.

"When JJ's Ranch was holding its Elvis event, I thought it was a great opportunity to reach people of every age," Ms Forsythe explained.

She described how there were a range of individuals in attendance aged between 19 and 86 and all were very receptive towards receiving the unique condoms.

Presley, who had a string of hits including Return To Sender and Jailhouse Rock, died at his Graceland mansion in Memphis on August 16th 1977.
