Fifty Shades of Grey 'encouraging sexual adventurism'
The success of a raunchy book is resulting in people becoming more adventurous in the bedroom, new figures have suggested.
PinkCherry has announced sales of sex toys have increased dramatically in Canada since the publication of Fifty Shades of Grey.
The findings suggest couples may be keener to use products such as sex lube after reading the E L James-penned erotic novel, while certain bondage-related items - heavily mentioned in the tome - are proving highly popular.
Daniel Freedman, chief executive officer at the company, noted: "Fifty Shades of Grey has brought the world of sex toys to those who previously were unsure or unaware, it has awakened a whole new world for some people."
Mr Freedman claimed the impact of the book - which sees a young woman enjoying a steamy relationship with a successful entrepreneur - has been huge for the sex industry, with people even hosting parties themed on the contents of the tale.
