Hustler fined for not giving performers condoms
Hustler Video has been fined $14,175 (£8,900) for failing to ensure its performers wore condoms on set when having sex.
This could have put them at an increased risk of catching a sexually transmitted infection.
The citation from the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health said the company "failed to ensure the use of appropriate personal protective equipment, such as condoms".
As well as this, they did not take proper precautions to prevent the adult film stars from exposure to semen, vaginal excretions and blood.
The investigation was carried out after an official complaint was lodged by the Aids Healthcare Foundation.
Larry Flynt, the owner of Hustler, is one of the many porn industry employers who argue individuals will not watch films where condoms are used.
Forsaken Pictures is facing a penalty of $12,150 for being reprimanded for similar violations.
A campaign is currently being run called Get Rubber!, which sees performers from the industry speaking about the benefits of using the prophylactic.
