James Franco: Everyone thinks about sex

James Franco believes sex is something everyone thinks about, regardless of whether or not they want to.

Speaking to MTV News, the Hollywood heartthrob claimed intimacy is hugely important and represents an essential part of being human.

"Sex and sexuality are such big parts of our lives - the ways that we define ourselves, the ways that we interact with each other," he noted.

The actor made his comments during the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, running from January 17th to 27th, where he is promoting three sex-filled movies - and the nature of the films suggest the topic of condoms and safe sex is one that may come up often.

Franco is depicting Playboy founder Hugh Hefner in Lovelace, while he has also co-directed Interior. Leather Bar - which centres on gay cruising in the 1980s - as well as producing the documentary Kink.

The latter focuses on the largest producer of BDSM in the world - and Franco claimed the title could be particularly appealing to those who have enjoyed the EL James book 50 Shades of Grey and its sequels.
