Kent NHS unveils condom app

The Community NHS Trust in Kent has unveiled a new iPhone app aimed at encouraging people to use condoms when engaging in sexual behaviour.

It is hoped the service - which will guide users to places where they can pick up condoms - can help reduce unwanted teenage pregnancies in the area, the Register reports.

The app is enabled with a global positioning system that shows all of the Condom Access Points in Kent thanks to a Google map.

For those under the age of 19, they will be able to use the setup to get their hands on free prophylactics.

Those who are 19 and over can still benefit from the system but will be required to purchase the products once they locate them.

The news comes after Lisa Power, policy director at Terrence Higgins Trust, recently claimed young people in the UK require better sexual education with regard to condoms and relationships.
