Lady Gaga backs safe sex
Lady Gaga has shown her support for safe sex by wearing a latex-inspired outfit on a US talkshow.
The Poker Face singer appeared on Good Morning America and observed she had been taught by her mother when she was younger about the need to use birth control methods such as condoms.
"I really wanted to ... be representative of what ... people all over the world need to be concerned about, which is the leading cause of death in women all around, which is HIV," she added.
Gaga is known for her sexually-charged live performances and videos, but her words may see some buy condoms online.
She was speaking after clinching three gongs at the Grammy Awards, including best female pop vocal performance.
The artist observed these victories came as a big shock to her.
Her new single Born This Way has become the 1,000th number one since the introduction of America's Billboard Hot 100.
