Look 7 years younger 'by having regular sex'
People hoping to slow down the effects of ageing may want to stock up on condoms as well as wrinkle creams, as it has been claimed that sex can help individuals look younger.
Dr David Weeks, former head of old age psychology at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, suggested one of the health benefits associated with regular bedroom action is that it can make men and women appear five to seven years younger than they really are, the Daily Telegraph reports.
According to the expert, getting down and dirty causes the release of endorphins, which can reduce anxiety, help people to sleep and serve as a natural painkiller.
Moreover, exercise benefits the heart by getting the blood pumping, while the release of the human growth hormone can lead to a person's skin looking more elastic.
Dr Weeks stated: "Sexual satisfaction is a major contributor to quality of life, ranking at least as high as spiritual or religious commitment and other morale factors."
