Margot Robbie rejects Playboy offer

Margot Robbie has turned down Hugh Hefner's proposal to appear on the cover of Playboy magazine.

The 23-year-old actress drew the attention of Hefner after appearing in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street.

She said: "I've put my family through enough", after filming several nude scenes with Leonardo DiCaprio for the film.

Hugh had said: "The girl that plays [his] wife in [Wolf of Wall Street] is very, very pretty. She should be in Playboy! Send her a message! We're ready for her. She would be great."

Margot plays the role of Naomi Lapaglia, the wife of Leo's character Jordan Belfort in the story of how he rose to the top of the investment industry through corruption.

Hugh Heffner is known for always looking to get the hottest female star of the moment to pose for his magazine.

Despite the rejection, Margot insists that she does not regret going nude for the film and will look back fondly on her body when in her 50's.

The Australian actress also credited the movie's crew and make-up team for making her look as good as she did.

Last month, Margot revealed that she failed to inform her family of the sex scenes she had done for the movie.

In fact, she even told them that rumours of her nudity were false, before then telling them that a body double was used instead.

The film itself has caused controversy for its explicit scenes involving drugs, sex and various illegal activities.

At three hours long, it contains a number of orgy scenes, the consumption of countless narcotics as well as a record number of uses of the F word.

Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio and screenwriter Terence Winter have all defended the movie as a "cautionary tale".

The Wolf of Wall Street has been nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director.

Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey and Kyle Chandler also star in the movie.
