Marilyn Monroe sex tape 'to go to auction'
A sex tape that allegedly shows former Hollywood A-lister Marilyn Monroe engaging in a threesome with John F Kennedy is set to be sold.
William Castleberry, a former bodyguard and an avid memorabilia collector, has revealed that the video will be made available at an auction this week.
He told Radar: "It's real. I had it for years."
The tape, which also apparently features the former President's brother Robert Kennedy, was shot on an 8mm reel.
Mr Castleberry recently failed to pay a debt amounting to $200,000 (£120,000) for selling a fake statue, with lawyers recently demanding a balloon payment of $90,000.
Due to not being able to afford that amount, a Tulane County sheriff confiscated a number of valuable pieces from his home, including the tape.
He said: "They demanded a $90,000 payment I couldn’t afford and that is when the sheriff came in and seized the sex tape and all of my other memorabilia I have been collecting my entire life."
The video was not released, according to Mr Castleberry, out of respect for Joe DiMaggio who was married to Marilyn for less than a year.
He was also a highly accomplished baseball player, turning out for the New York Yankees for 13 straight years. He died in 1999.
The tape has not yet been seen by anybody other than Mr Castleberry and doubts have been cast as to its authenticity.
Ryan Sullivan, an attorney representing the victims of the fake statue sale, has stated that he doesn't know what is on the tape and can't verify its contents.
He said: "I have no idea what is on the tape. The only way anyone will ever know is if they buy it and view it."
The family of Fred Otash, a private investigator hired by Marilyn to record her phone calls, admitted that he recorded the video while spying on the actress during her affair with JFK.
Mr Castleberry has until Tuesday (March 4th) to come up with the money to get back the tape and says that, if he does, he will make it public.
