Miley Cyrus: Sex should not be taboo

Miley Cyrus believes sex should not be a taboo subject and people need to open up about their love lives.

Speaking in an interview on The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet, the actress - who shot to fame in the popular Disney series Hannah Montana - described the act of intercourse as beautiful.

The subject of using condoms and other safe sex practices is therefore unlikely to be an uncomfortable talking point between Cyrus and her current boyfriend and The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth.

Cyrus explained young people need to be taught about sex, because it is an act that enables people to connect with one another.

She stated: "It's ignorant not to talk to your kids about it or not make it seem as magical or cool as it actually is. Kids have a TV, so they know."

The worth of a woman is based on how she feels about herself, rather than the sexual favours she does for somebody, the 19-year-old added.
