Mobile phone company hands out free condoms

A mobile phone company is giving out free condoms to raise awareness of the need for safe sex practices.

It comes after a poll by Phones4u found 80 per cent of those questioned have received a saucy text message - dubbed sexting - before, the Press Association reports.

A total of 40 per cent of those people admitted they had gone on to have sex with the sender of the text.

Russell Braterman, managing director of the company, said: "Sexting is becoming a modern way of life in today's society."

He added many people are expressing themselves sexually through the use of their mobile phone.

Some 44 per cent of respondents said they have sent a naked picture to someone before.

The free prophylactic devices are being given out to mark National Condom Day.

It comes after a scheme was launched in Dundee which will see teenagers educate schoolchildren about safe sex.
