New 'smart' condom ring is like a fitbit for your sex life
Many of us like to keep our private lives, well, private, but the latest sex toy may have you changing your mind when it hits the market.
A brand new condom ring is being developed that will measure how good you are in bed and even let you send this personal data to your friends, the Nottingham Post reports.
Being developed by Nottinghamshire firm British Condoms, the i.Con has been described as a 'smart condom ring' and can record how long your intercourse lasts, as well as what positions the wearer is trying out.
It also collects stats on girth measurement, calories burned and how often you have sex, allowing buyers to get the entire picture when it comes to the state of their sex lives.
British Condoms, based at Hartley Business Centre, says the i.Con Smart Condom ring is a new form of wearable technology that will give you all the data you need to rate your performance in the bedroom.
The device sits snugly at the base of a condom and is adjustable for size. It also has multiple uses, with an integrated micro USB port allowing it to be recharged. With a full battery, the i.Con should last between six and eight hours before it needs to be plugged in again.
Set to hit the market next year and valued at £60, the number and speed of thrusts during intercourse will also be measured by the cheeky new sex toy.
However, it's not just about getting information for you and your partner's own peace of mind, as you can also share your bedroom stats with as many people as you want using its nano-chip and bluetooth technology,
You can easily send any data the i.Con collects to your smartphone via the connected app and the company says all information uploaded will be kept anonymous.
There is also a sensible side to this upcoming sex toy. It can reportedly detect sexually transmitted infections, such as chlamydia and syphilis, helping its users have safe sex.
