Number of gays using condoms stabilising?
The number of gay men using condoms in serious relationships may be at a stable level, following the release of new findings.
According to the Office for National Statistics - which is the executive office of the UK Statistics Authority - the overall number of gay people tying the knot in civil ceremonies rose slightly last year to reach 6,385.
In addition, the figures revealed the ratio of men to women in same-sex civil partnerships stood at 49:51, while the average age for gay males marrying one-another dipped from 41.2 to 40.6 years.
Speaking to the Independent, Gino Meriano - who runs the Gay Wedding Show - noted gay females are also beginning to drive the market forward, with the value of the industry rising from £44 million to £51 million.
He said: "We have noticed a clear group of 30 to 38-year-old women coming into the show and the ratio of women for the past few years has increased."
