NYC condom 'will be improved'
Free condoms issued by the government in New York City could be set for improvements, especially if a mayoral hopeful in the Big Apple gets her way.
Christine Quinn has revealed that one of her top priorities if she lands the coveted role would be to make these prophylactics safer and more practical, the Huffington Post reports.
Speaking at the Black Pride Heritage Awards in Harlem, Ms Quinn explained she was recently at an event where many African-American homosexual men informed her that they felt strongly about problems with the HIV work being carried out in New York.
She stated: "So I want to tell you, we will be improving the NYC condom."
The mayoral candidate noted she has received an overwhelming response regarding the government-issued condoms, with many people complaining about the quality of the products, which are distributed free of charge at a number of bars, pharmacies and clinics in the city.
