People 'having more sex due to erotic fiction'

Couples could well be getting through condom packets at a much faster rate since the release of popular erotic fiction book Fifty Shades of Grey.

This is because new research for Netmums has found women are demanding more sex after reading the bestseller, the Daily Mail reports.

According to the study, one-in-eight females now get down and dirty with their lover every day, representing a marked increase on the three per cent who said the same last year.

Moreover, the success of the saucy tale - which sees college graduate Anastasia Steele become more sexually adventurous after meeting billionaire Christian Grey - has led to partners trying different sex positions to spice up their love life.

Reverse Cowgirl has replaced the tamer Doggy Style as the lovemaking style of choice for those who have read the tome, while one-in-five couples revealed their romps are now an hour longer than before.

Founder of Netmums Siobhan Freegard noted: "The book has set Britain's sex lives on fire with even worn-out mums finding much more time to make love."
