Sexual health under the microscope at Gaycon 2010

A conference regarding the sexual health of bisexual and gay men - Gaycon - is being held until today (October 21st), designed as a learning space for professionals to help them ensure that policies can be implemented in ways that meet the needs of this demographic.

Topics under discussion at the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, located in the heart of the city, have so far included safer sex advice and condom supply, setting up a peer support programme, HIV prevention, substance use and diseases such as syphilis.

In addition, the latest international research evidence is to be discussed, as well as any lessons learned, while identifying key priorities for action with regards to the promotion of sexual health and future work in Scotland.

Supporters of this initiative include LGBT Youth Scotland, Terence Higgins Trust Scotland, Gay Men's Health, Waverley Care, HIV Scotland and NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
