Young couples who break up 'often get back together for sex'
Young people who break up with a partner may want to make sure they remain fully stocked up on condoms.
This is because a new study published in the Journal of Adolescent Research has shown that a high number of young adults and teenagers end up having sex with their former lover even though they have called time on their relationship.
Researchers looked at information on 792 daters and cohabitors between the ages of 17 and 24 and found that 44 per cent involved with someone in the past two years have reconciled with their ex.
And of these, 53 per cent revealed they have taken this making-up process into the bedroom.
However, the authors warned that "having sex with an ex may be problematic because former partners can have difficulty moving on from an old relationship or building new romantic attachments".
The news comes after recent research carried out on behalf of the Sun revealed people from the Midlands are the most adventurous Brits between the sheets.
